Job Description
As part of a team, you will manage and deliver capital investment projects for flood alleviation schemes, covering the entire project lifecycle from inception to commissioning. You will also provide client‑side cost and commercial management support throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Support cost/commercial management commissions, ensuring their successful delivery.
- Participate in appropriate meetings, prepare cost reports, assist with procurement strategies and tender documentation, and provide general post‑contract commercial management and administration.
- Engage proactively with client, contractor, and other stakeholders to keep the project within agreed parameters and help prevent disputes.
- Provide client‑side cost management, including stakeholder, risk, and contract management.
- Support projects and commissions to meet client satisfaction for quality, cost, and time.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and cross‑functional team members.
- Support business development opportunities with existing and new clients.
- Provide support on contract management services on NEC4 contracts, administering through a contract management system.
- Advise the client on procurement strategies and review tender documentation.
Qualifications
- Infrastructure cost/commercial management experience (water industry experience desirable).
- Knowledge of NEC suite of contracts, especially PSC and ECC.
- Experience working in integrated, multi‑organisation, collaborative teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship‑building skills.
- Capable of working independently while collaborating closely with senior project managers and associates.
- Team player with a can‑do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
- Excellent IT skills and ability to use current digital tools.
- Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage relationships internally and externally.
- Desire to work as part of a team and develop career progression.
- Commitment to a right‑first‑time approach and to social and CSR activities.
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a consulting or contractor environment.
- Relevant degree (quantity surveying or similar); relevant industry experience considered.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts, especially PSC and ECC.
- Working toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or equivalent).
- May be required to complete security screening checks.
