Position OverviewWe are recruiting a Senior Risk Consultant to join our growing team across UK offices. In this role, you will implement and advise on risk management solutions for AECOM’s major infrastructure projects across diverse sectors, engaging with senior stakeholders and customers, and supporting decision making.
Responsibilities- Engage with project teams to ensure effective implementation of risk management.
- Provide direct risk management input to bids and proposals to secure new business.
- Perform risk assurance checks to ensure the quality of project and programme risk management.
- Communicate key project and programme risk data to senior leaders.
- Produce comprehensive risk reports for informed decision‑making.
- Coach and mentor staff in risk management best practice.
- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of risks.
- Develop robust Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans, and Risk Mitigation Plans.
- Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA and QSRA) using techniques such as Monte‑Carlo to establish project contingency levels.
- Design and implement risk management frameworks for projects and programmes.
- Support cost, scheduling, project controls, and change management teams where appropriate.
- 3+ years of experience in risk management, with at least 2 years on high‑value projects.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or hold a risk management qualification (MOR, APM Risk, IRM).
- Proven experience and excellent working knowledge gained in a multi‑disciplinary project environment.
- Proficient in industry risk management tools (ARM, Xactium, Risk Hive, Predict, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience conducting QCRA & QSRA using Safran, Primavera Risk Analyzer, @risk, etc.
- Competency in implementing risk management processes aligned with ISO
31000, Institute of Risk Management, or Association of Project Management methodologies. - Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors.
- Good people‑management and task facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
- Working knowledge of current methodologies and tools related to managing projects.
