Overview
As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordinating and overseeing of all logistics operations. This role ensures the efficient movement and delivery of materials, equipment, personnel and services to support project schedules, maximise site productivity and maintain compliance with safety standards. Playing a key role in the project delivery, you will interface with stakeholders, including construction managers, statutory authorities, community and other project delivery teams to deliver a best in class service.
Responsibilities- In conjunction with the consents team, ensure that Construction Traffic Management Plans are fully developed and maintained.
- Develop construction logistics plans tailored to the project requirements.
- Ensuring Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) are delivered in accordance with the programme, identifying strategies to improve schedule and cost performance.
- Monitor logistics compliance, process and procedure adherence across internal teams and the supply chain.
- Conduct risk assessments and implementation of mitigation measures.
- Support the implementation and operation of park and ride facilities.
- Proactive supply chain engagement to align expectations and mitigate risks.
- Preparation of periodic reports on logistics measurements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage logistics gate procedures and onsite logistics including store management.
- Ensure compliance with import and export procedures.
- Extensive experience in logistics, preferably in large scale construction or tunnelling projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capability, with experience in supervising teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT literacy, confident with logistics management systems.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards relevant to construction logistics planning.
- CSCS.
- First aid at work.
- SSSTS
- CILT membership.
- CLOCS trained
- Full UK driving licence
