About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a brand‑new children’s residential home opening in the M16 area of Manchester. The service will initially operate as a 4‑bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) home before transitioning into a specialist 3‑bed Learning Disabilities (LD) provision. This presents a unique opportunity for a dedicated leader to shape the development of the service, build a high‑performing team, and make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
This role would suit an established Registered Manager seeking a fresh challenge or an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step into registration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the registration and opening of the home.
- Ensure the service operates in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a skilled residential care team.
- Promote a positive, therapeutic, and child‑centred culture throughout the service.
- Drive high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Manage budgets, occupancy, staffing, and overall operational performance.
- Develop effective relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and stakeholders.
- Ensure young people receive the highest standard of care and support, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Previous experience within children’s residential care.
- Experience in a management or senior leadership position within a children’s home.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete if appropriate).
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
- Salary of £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience.
