Role Summary
The Sales Development Manager is responsible for managing Sophos’ UK‑based Sales Development Representatives, a team of 12 SDRs across the EMEA region. The role focuses on developing new sales skills and thinking across the team, overseeing change programmes, building strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Operations and the broader SDR community, driving innovation, and increasing productivity and quality of sales opportunities. The role requires office attendance in Manchester (3 days per week).
WhatYou Will Do
- Team Management:
Monitor and report on KPIs, conduct team meetings and 1‑1s, promote success and address underperformance to meet team targets. - Team Development:
Set performance standards and targets, develop new skills, provide regular coaching sessions and enable progression. - Peer Engagement:
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leaders, share feedback and influence performance and financial contribution of the SDR team. - Sales Methods and Mindset:
Build a sales mentality, work with enablement to design and deliver modern training programmes. - Maintains Motivation:
Sustain energy through positive leadership, celebrating performance, setting goals, and providing incentives. - Collaborate:
Partner with EMEA SDR Manager, Marketing and Sales to ensure campaign ROI, high hand‑offs, and revenue growth. - Enable Innovation:
Experiment, benchmark and implement ideas to improve standards and collaboration. - Selection and Onboarding:
Recruit high‑caliber candidates, design extended induction programmes. - Inspire Success:
Lead from the front, maintain credibility, and drive new possibilities.
- Strong management experience or desire for a management role.
- 3+ years in a sales environment with a track record of delivering targets.
- Ability to collaborate, influence, and build productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience setting, measuring, interpreting and presenting performance goals.
- Track record of leading change projects and coaching teams.
- Skills in prioritization, delegation and empowerment.
- High emotional intelligence and effective communication at all levels.
- Data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement mindset.
