Project Manager

Hybrid - with weekly travel to Bupa Place, M50 3SP

Permanent - full time

Salary: competitive depending on experience

37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Role Overview

To define, lead and manage the delivery of projects for Health Services, working cross‑functionally, ensuring all deadlines are met and projects are successfully implemented. This may encompass all stages of the project life cycle including investigation, analysis of business requirements, identification of solutions, implementation and post‑implementation review.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
  • Managing projects using a recognised, sound development approach to ensure objectives are met within timescales and budget.
  • Identifying the scope of a project and defining work streams and their deliverables, setting challenging but realistic timescales for delivery and building an overall project plan.
  • For each project, identifying and managing the risk, impact and dependencies (including communication and training).
  • Reporting progress to the business sponsor and other interested parties, ensuring that issues are raised and dealt with.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on behalf of the business, using market and business knowledge effectively to shape and influence solution design.
  • Managing, as appropriate, the implementation of the revised processes in a manner that involves all areas of the business and ensures their commitment, followed by post‑implementation support.
  • Challenging the direction and scope of projects, identifying and encouraging radical opportunities, and assisting in developing ideas, solutions and resolutions, ensuring all projects remain aligned to business priorities.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – supportive and approachable, with the ability to manage and motivate others by encouraging participation and ownership.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and particularly MS Project)
  • Highly motivated team player, able to work on own initiative; a self‑starter with enthusiasm and drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels. Asks questions to understand others’ views and always consults affected parties.
  • Embraces new ways of working and is open minded about the way forward.
  • Flexible attitude to change, well versed in the principles of change management with ability to coach others through the process of change.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and achieving deliverables, putting Bupa’s interests first.
  • Able to take a non‑directive approach to problems, working with teams to provide processes that enable others to reach their own solutions.
  • Able to work through ambiguity and navigate complex situations to deliver clear and practical solutions.
  • Builds and maintains credible relationships, instils confidence and trust in colleagues by demonstrating a sound understanding of Bupa.
