I'm working with a specialist infrastructure consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of multi-disciplinary rail and infrastructure projects from inception through to successful delivery.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll act as the key client interface, lead delivery teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex rail and infrastructure projects, or a portfolio of smaller schemes
  • Act as the primary client contact across the full project lifecycle, building strong and trusted relationships
  • Manage design, procurement, and construction phases in line with industry standards and internal procedures
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary teams including Commercial Managers, Construction Managers, and Field Engineers
  • Manage project risks, opportunities, change control, and financial performance
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements (including CDM Regulations and HMRI)
  • Review and approve key delivery documentation including Construction Phase Plans and Work Package Plans
  • Coordinate closely with engineering and technical specialists to ensure design and delivery alignment
  • Support project close‑out, handover, and completion of Health & Safety files
  • Contribute to wider business activities including fee proposals, resource planning, risk management, and tender support
What You’ll Need
  • Proven experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary rail or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of civils, structures, and permanent way disciplines
  • Experience working in client‑side, seconded, or integrated project environments
  • Strong leadership and team management capability across multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills
  • Strong understanding of NEC3 contract administration and project governance
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
  • Work on major rail infrastructure projects that deliver real long‑term impact
  • Take ownership of high‑profile, multi‑disciplinary project delivery
  • Join a collaborative consultancy that values people, clients, and communities
Benefits
  • Strong focus on flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and industry partners
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
