Job Summary

As a Paid Performance Director, you will be a performance specialist with extensive search management experience and client‑facing skills. You will drive strategy and lead the implementation of innovative solutions for high‑budget UK retailers, managing a portfolio of the country’s biggest brands in Health and Beauty. The role includes leading a team of paid performance specialists, representing the agency in pitches, and contributing to cross‑channel integration and new business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Campaign Optimisation
    • Oversee optimisation of campaigns using bid‑management tools to deliver ongoing paid performance.
    • Drive best practice across the team, improving quality, innovation and automation.
    • Engage in knowledge sharing across the Paid Performance network.
  • Strategic Planning & Forecasting
    • Complete and manage the forecast/plan of monthly budgets in line with client objectives.
    • Assist and lead managers with development and planning of search marketing strategy.
  • Cross‑Channel Integration
    • Collaborate with other Havas teams to enhance strategy, execution and measurement.
    • Ensure a consistent approach for clients across all channels.
  • Commercial Development
    • Identify opportunities to drive commerciality through cross‑sell of Havas Market and Havas Media Network services.
    • Develop new solutions or productise existing capabilities to generate new revenue streams.
    • Contribute to new business prospecting and business development meetings.
  • Team Management
    • Manage personal development plans, appraisals and training for all direct reports.
    • Develop technical and strategic expertise within the team.
    • Lead recruitment and ensure clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Administer accurate and timely finance and budgeting.
    • Own the profitability of your client portfolio and team.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Serve as the senior point of contact, leading strategy and managing client expectations.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.
    • Provide escalation and problem‑resolution support.
    • Deliver client‑facing presentations on strategy, recommendations and results.
    • Develop media plans, roadmaps and reporting across the portfolio.
  • Behavioural Leadership
    • Lead on new business efforts and process ownership.
    • Act as a thought leader within the team, agency and industry.
    • Advocate digital innovation and industry positioning.
  • Innovation & Growth
    • Design data‑driven strategies and test‑and‑learn programs.
    • Champion innovation within the agency and client relationships.
    • Create case studies and pursue industry awards.
    • Drive forward the Paid Performance product and operational improvements.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years in a performance marketing role, preferably within an agency.
  • Experience managing enterprise‑level clients with budgets of £1million+ in paid search.
  • Proven client‑relationship leadership and delivery of large budgets.
  • Extensive certifications across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics and SA360 (plus other bid‑tech such as Pacvue or Skai).
  • Knowledge of competitor tools (Similar Web, Adthena, SEMrush, etc.) and latest industry technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, client presentation skills.
  • Line‑management experience, preferably with multiple direct reports.
  • Excellent time‑management, prioritisation and analytical skills.
  • Commercial experience with client or team profitability responsibility.
