We’re seeking a future team member for the role QA Lead to join our Sanctions Team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.

Role Overview :

In this role, you will lead the Quality Assurance function across sanctions screening activities, helping to ensure robust oversight, strong risk management, and continuous improvement across both static data and transaction screening. You will play a key role in shaping QA strategy, driving operational excellence, developing talent, and influencing stakeholders through meaningful quality insights.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Operational & Performance Management:

Take accountability for the Sanctions QA function’s delivery against key risk indicators (KRIs), objectives, and quality standards across both Static and Transaction Screening.

Monitor operational performance, resource allocation, and workflow distribution to ensure the function can scale effectively.

Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and manage risk.

Evaluate opportunities to leverage automation and AI within the QA process to improve effectiveness and support sustainable risk management.

Planning & Execution:
Own the QA strategy, including sampling methodology, test scripts, and scorecards. Manage forecast demand and capacity plans to ensure KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved.

People Management:
Coach and develop a high-performing QA team, delivering initiatives to grow their skills and managing succession plans for senior leads.

Expertise:
Act as a subject matter expert in Sanctions policy, Quality Assurance and risk management. Validate complex case outcomes, lead audit interactions.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Build constructive relationships with Operational/Training/Compliance Leads. Translate QA data into a compelling narrative to communicate complex topics in an engaging way and influence business change and Training needs.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

Management experience preferred, with a minimum of 5+ years in leading a team of 10+ people.

Significant of financial crime-related alert review experience (with a preference for sanctions alerts) or testing/QA experience

Familiar with fundamental test/QA processes, Experience in Payments, Banking Operations, QA functions.

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
