An exciting opportunity is available in the Safer Stronger Communities Directorate to lead our ambitious and nationally leading 10-year Greater Manchester strategy to tackle Gender-Based Violence and our Victims Services portfolio for the city region.

Reporting into an Assistant Director, the role will act as a subject matter expert and strategic lead for all areas of Gender-Based Violence and wider Victims of crime. The post holder will work hand in hand with senior level partners including with policing, local authorities, health, probation and the voluntary, community and faith sector to enable us to reach our ambition to halve Gender-Based Violence in the next decade.

The role holder will directly advise the Deputy Mayor and senior officers in the Directorate and be expected to lead significant relevant projects, programmes and commissioned services as well as lead Government engagement activity in this area

You should have significant experience in and subject matter knowledge of tackling areas of Gender-Based Violence and supporting victims of crime.

You should have significant skills and experience in commissioning, project/programme management, bid writing, policy development and budget management.

The post holder will need a high degree of political acumen and be able to navigate a complex stakeholder environment.
