Team Manager Eccles & Irlam Integrated Neighbourhood Social Work Team

Summerfield House, Royal Hospital, 544 Eccles New Rd, Salford M5 5AP

Join us at an exciting time for Adult Social Care in Salford

Salford City Council is committed to supporting adults to live safe, independent and fulfilling lives. As we continue to strengthen and develop our Adult Social Care services, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Manager to lead our Eccles & Irlam Integrated Neighbourhood Social Work Team.

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking service that places people at the centre of everything we do. You'll play a key role in promoting high-quality Adult Social Care and safeguarding practice, supporting professional development and working collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for adults across the city.

Leading a team of skilled and dedicated practitioners, you will help shape the future of Adult Social Care and safeguarding in Salford, ensuring that adults' rights, wishes and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

As Team Manager for this Community Social Work Team, you will provide leadership and oversight of the Local Authority's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, ensuring all Adult Social Care enquiries, assessments and interventions are managed effectively and proportionately.

Working within an integrated neighbourhood footprint, you will foster strong relationships with local PCNs, health colleagues, housing providers, care providers, the voluntary sector, and the Salford Safeguarding Adults Board to drive a coordinated, place-based approach to adult social care and safeguarding.

You will support and develop a team of experienced social care professionals through setting good practice standards, supervision, coaching and reflective practice, creating an environment where staff can thrive and perform at their best.

The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to service development, quality assurance and wider Adult Social Care transformation, helping to shape and continuously improve Adult Social Care practice across the city.

What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader with a positive “can do” approach, who:

  • Has substantial experience of team leadership or management within Adult Social Care.
  • Brings strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, strengths-based approaches, and any other health and social care related legislation including safeguarding.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to person-centred, rights-based, outcome-focused, early intervention and preventative practice.
  • Is confident leading and supporting teams to achieve high standards of performance and practice.
  • Can build effective relationships across complex multi-agency partnerships and neighbourhood footprints.
  • Has the skills to influence, support and challenge practice through supervision, mentoring and professional leadership.
  • Is motivated by learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates strategic alignment and strong collaborative skills to support the Principal Manager in driving service priorities and team governance under delegated responsibilities, including deputising as required.

You will be reflective, resilient and able to balance operational demands with a focus on quality, professional development, staff wellbeing and positive outcomes for the people of Salford.

Why Salford?

Working with us means:

  • Being part of an ambitious Adult Social Care service committed to high-quality health and social care practice.
  • Working alongside experienced and supportive managers and practitioners.
  • Accessing excellent learning, development and leadership opportunities.
  • Having the flexibility and wellbeing support needed to thrive in a modern, hybrid working environment.
  • Making a meaningful difference to the lives of adults and communities across Salford.

We recognise the challenges and responsibilities that come with Adult Social Care leadership and are committed to providing high support, helping our managers and practitioners develop, succeed and make a lasting impact.
