Assistant General Manager

As Assistant General Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to deliver the operational, commercial and customer success of the development. You'll lead from the front, support and develop the onsite team, drive resident satisfaction, and ensure the building operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

You'll act as the General Manager's deputy, taking ownership of the day-to-day operation of the building and stepping into the lead role when required.

• Support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the development
• Ensure exceptional standards are maintained across all resident-facing and back-of-house areas
• Oversee resident services including parcel management, amenity bookings, housekeeping and key security
• Manage contractors and service partners to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Support the management of budgets, purchase orders, invoices and operational expenditure
• Contribute to client reporting, operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

• Take ownership of key compliance activities and statutory inspections across the development
• Help maintain a safe, compliant and well-managed environment for residents, team members and contractors
• Support building inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits
• Work closely with Facilities Management teams to ensure high asset standards are maintained
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure all regulatory and contractual obligations are met
• Act as a senior operational lead during incidents, escalations or emergency situations

• Lead, coach and support the onsite team to deliver exceptional service
• Conduct regular one-to-ones, team meetings and performance reviews
• Create a positive, engaged and high-performing culture
• Support recruitment, onboarding and development of team members
• Lead by example and act as a role model for urbanbubble's values and behaviours

• Support the delivery of an exceptional resident experience at every touchpoint
• Work with the Community Host team to create a welcoming, engaging and inclusive community
• Help shape and deliver resident engagement initiatives, events and communications
• Drive resident satisfaction, online reviews and retention performance
• Deliver ESG and social value initiatives that enhance the community experience

• Support the delivery of occupancy, resident satisfaction and retention targets
• Monitor KPIs and operational performance metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
• Assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
• Build strong relationships with clients, residents and stakeholders

• Strong knowledge of building operations, compliance and Health & Safety requirements
• Experience leading, coaching and developing people
• A customer-first mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service
• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and contractors
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with residents, clients and colleagues
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
• High energy, drive, and a proactive approach

• Experience in a Build to Rent environment
• TPI BTR Level 4 qualification
• ARLA qualification
• IOSH Managing Safely or other Health & Safety qualification
• First Aid, Fire Marshal or Mental Health First Aid qualification
