Community Safety and Protection Manager; Street Safe

The Community Safety and Protection (Street Safe) Manager leads the Street Safe Team within the Regeneration & Environment directorate at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. The role sets the team's direction and runs its day-to-day operation, aiming to improve how safe people feel in town centres. The team safeguards vulnerable people and maintains a visible uniformed presence across the borough's principal towns.

Because the work involves children and adults, the successful candidate must pass an enhanced criminal records check.

• Lead and manage the Street Safe Team, overseeing its strategic direction and operations
• Ensure the team meets its objectives on improving public perceptions of safety in town centres
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
• Coordinate with other Council services and partners
• Monitor and report on team performance and impact
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies

• Proven experience in community safety, safeguarding, enforcement or a related field
• Strong leadership and management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders

• Enhanced criminal records (DBS) check
