Our client a well-established structural steel fabrication company based in Walkdenare looking to appoint an experienced Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to lead and manage a busy workshop operation.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Fabrication Supervisor / Workshop Manager / Senior Fabricator Welder with proven experience in structural steel, MIG & TIG welding, and workshop supervision.

Fabrication Workshop Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily workshop operations within a structural steel fabrication environment
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of fabricators and welders
Read and interpret engineering and structural steel drawings
Receive manufacturing packages from Contracts Manager / Estimator
Produce cutting lists and manage material ordering
Plan workloads, allocate jobs, and monitor production progress
Carry out hands-on MIG and TIG welding as required
Ensure fabrication work meets exact specifications and quality standards
Maintain accurate production records and work to ISO quality standards
Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations and PPE usage
Maintain workshop housekeeping, equipment, and machinery
Communicate production delays, quality issues, or safety concerns
Support continuous improvement within the workshop
Fabrication Workshop Supervisor Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Fabrication Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor
Strong background in structural steel fabrication
Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding
Experience managing workshop teams in an engineering environment
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety in fabrication workshops
Experience working to tight deadlines and solving production issues
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Hands-on, practical, and detail-focused approach
