Job Title: Production Operative – Day Shift Location: Manchester, Trafford Park Reports to: Production & Compliance Manager Employment type: Permanent Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm.
We’re looking for a reliable and hands‑on individual to join our team as a Production Operative. This is a varied role that combines operating sheet metal machinery with supporting general warehouse duties. Ideal for someone who is safety‑conscious, detail‑oriented, and keen to develop their skills in a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities:- Operate and Maintain Sheet Metal Machinery
:
Set up, monitor, and maintain sheet metal equipment to ensure safe, efficient production of high‑quality duct fittings. - Ensure Product Quality
:
Inspect products for defects and report any quality issues promptly to the team leader. - Support Warehouse Operations
:
Assist with picking, packing, and loading of goods to support production and dispatch activities when required. - Maintain Clean and Safe Work Environment
:
Keep machinery and surrounding areas clean while complying with all health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Sheet Metal and Production Experience
:
Proven background working in a sheet metal or manufacturing environment. - Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence
:
Valid FLT licence (or willingness to obtain one) to operate material handling equipment safely. - Attention to Detail
:
Strong focus on accuracy when working with machinery and during quality checks. - Basic Record‑Keeping Skills
:
Ability to maintain clear and accurate production and material records.
- Safety‑Conscious
:
Always adheres to health and safety protocols, including the use of machine guards and PPE. - Reliable and Flexible
:
Willing to take on various tasks and support the team to ensure smooth factory operations. - Technically Capable
:
Confident in operating and controlling sheet metal machinery and equipment. - Eager to Learn
:
Open to training and developing new skills to grow within the role.
- Salary of £25, 396.80
