We are expanding our future talent pool with Multiskilled Maintenance Technicians and Engineers for our Equipment Maintenance teams.
This role specializes in the repair and maintenance of high‑tech tools within the fab on a busy manufacturing site where over 14,000 semiconductor wafers are made each week. As a Multiskilled Equipment Engineering Technician you will support manufacturing operations with routine maintenance activities, breakdowns, and root‑cause analysis of complex wafer fab equipment. Your work will directly affect product output and yield, and you’ll optimize maintenance procedures using key performance indicators while maintaining housekeeping standards and effective spare stock control to 5S standards.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities to keep equipment running at peak performance.
- Carry out maintenance procedures and root‑cause analysis on a variety of diffusion wafer processing equipment, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of issues.
- Manage spare parts efficiently, maintaining stock levels and ensuring materials are readily available.
- Adhere to strict health and safety directives while carrying out all maintenance and repair work.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost‑effective maintenance programs that improve equipment performance and drive KPIs forward.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal team members and external specialists to ensure smooth operations and effective problem‑solving.
- Completed a mechanical, electrical, or multiskilled apprenticeship and educated to a minimum of ONC standard, or equivalent experience within an engineering environment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing equipment such as electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic, actuation, or similar.
- Backgrounds in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, high‑volume FCMG, light robotics, mechanical, or Armed Forces equipment engineering are valued.
- Ability to work a rotating shift pattern, inclusive of nights and days (4 days on, 4 days off).
- Adaptability, problem‑solving, teamwork, and the ability to manage deadlines and workload.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office packages.
- Desire to learn and progress, with full training provided.
Competitive base salary between £30,000 and £35,000 (DOE) + 44% rotating shift allowance, annual incentive plan up to 6%, contributory pension scheme up to 9%, recognition rewards scheme, income protection, and 12× salary life assurance.
