We are looking for a Heat Treatment Operator to join a well‑established aerospace manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in heat treatment or a manufacturing/engineering background who is looking to develop their career within a precision engineering environment.
The business manufactures high‑quality aerospace components and is looking to strengthen its production team due to continued growth.
This role would suit a candidate with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment who has excellent attention to detail and is committed to producing components that meet strict aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate heat treatment furnaces and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload components for heat treatment processes.
- Follow detailed work instructions, engineering specifications and process documentation.
- Monitor furnace temperatures, cycle times and process parameters.
- Record production data and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Carry out visual inspections of components before and after heat treatment.
- Ensure all work complies with aerospace quality standards and company procedures.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate lifting equipment where required.
- Work closely with Quality, Production and Engineering teams.
- Maintain a clean and organised working area in line with 5S standards.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience operating industrial furnaces or heat treatment equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and process documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safe working practices.
Skills:
- Previous experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of heat treatment processes such as:
- Solution Heat Treatment
- Age Hardening
- Annealing
- Stress Relieving
- Understanding of metallurgy or material properties.
- Experience using overhead cranes or material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100.
- Forklift or crane licence (advantageous but not essential).
- £31,000 – £34,000 per annum, depending on experience.
