Recycling Operative

JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Recycling Operatives based in Trafford Park.

• Sort and segregate recyclable materials according to company procedures.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles delivering or collecting recyclable materials.
• Inspect incoming materials and identify contamination or non-conforming items.
• Operate machinery and equipment when trained and authorised.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the site.
• Assist with stock movement and storage of materials within designated areas.
• Follow all site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report hazards, accidents, damaged equipment, or unsafe practices immediately.
• Support processing operations to maximise recovery and recycling rates.
• Work effectively as part of a team to achieve operational targets.

• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling activities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

The role may involve working:

• Outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• In a busy industrial recycling yard.
• Around heavy machinery and moving vehicles.
• In noisy and dusty environments.
• On rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Manual handling of recyclable materials.
• Working at heights or confined spaces where trained and authorised.
• Ability to wear PPE for extended periods.

Monday - Friday 6:45am-4pm

Basic Hours are paid at £13.80 per hour

Overtime Hours are paid at £20.70 per hour
