As a print finishing operative, you will play a crucial role in making printed materials into professional products, utilising precision cutting, laminating, binding, folding techniques as well as other finishing skills, to ensure that customers receive a quality finished product.

We have a number of vacancies across the Finishing team on both middle shift (2pm- 10pm) and night shift (10pm to 6am). Please state your preference when applying.

Starting wage ranging from £25-27K depending on experience.

As part of our shortlisting process, we'll be inviting candidates to attend an open day at our manufacturing facility in Cramlington.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute various finishing processes such as cutting, binding, laminating, and folding to complete printed product.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet high standards and customer expectations.
  • Operate and maintain finishing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Manage workflow efficiently to meet production schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
  • Handle and organize printed materials, preparing them for finishing processes.
  • Set up saddle stitch machines according to job specifications, including adjusting settings for paper size, fold types, and trim sizes.
  • Load paper and other materials into the machine and ensure proper alignment and registration.
  • Monitor machine operations during production runs to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment, such as jams or misfeeds.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
  • Coordinate with team leaders to prioritize jobs and meet production deadlines.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering finished products of the highest quality.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving issues during the finishing process.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities throughout the working day.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift 20kg.
  • Experience with in manufacturing is preferred but not essential.
