CNC Miller Programmer Heidenhain Job Type: Permanent

Up to £21.00 per hour DOE (depending on experience and skill level) Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am 3:30pm
- Paid for 39 hours per week.
- Employees can either take their paid 15-minute tea break each day or work through it.
- Friday overtime available until 12:00pm, paid at 1.5x the hourly rate.
- Additional overtime is available and paid at 1.5x.
Based in Bury, our client is a well-established precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality, one-off bespoke machined components for a wide range of industries. They are known for investing in modern machinery, maintaining exceptionally high quality standards and providing a stable, supportive working environment with opportunities to work on varied and technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities- Programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
- Machine one-off bespoke components, including large fabricated and framework parts up to 4 5 metres in length.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Produce high-quality precision components to fine tolerances.
- Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the engineering team.
- Support production requirements, including overtime when required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience machining one-off bespoke components and large fabrications is highly desirable.
- Experience using standard inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
- A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A reliable, professional and self-motivated attitude.
- An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although relevant experience is the overriding factor.
- Excellent rates of pay up to £21.00 per hour for highly skilled candidates.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday).
- Paid 39-hour week.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate.
- 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays).
