We are seeking an experienced marketing professional to execute the marketing strategy for our Not-for-Profit Industry Group. This is a varied and high-profile role spanning sectors including charities, higher education and social housing. This role is part of the national Integrated Marketing Communications team with the purpose of working together to support driving sustainable growth for the firm.

You will be responsible for developing, delivering and monitoring strategic marketing activity across the national industry group and its sub-sectors (charities, education and social housing). On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with the industry development team, heads of sector and other senior stakeholders to ensure the firm’s industry expertise is effectively positioned externally. This includes collaborating with industry associations and producing insight-led content that adds value for clients, generates high-quality new business leads, and clearly articulates the firm’s full-service offering to the Not-for-Profit sector.

You will also act as a central conduit for communicating key activity and priority industry topics internally in addition to working with our global offices on some projects.

This role sits within a national team operating across the UK, with key stakeholder engagement based in London and line management in Leeds.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Advising on, developing and delivering the industry marketing strategy, determining the most effective and efficient way of engaging with our audiences, and ensuring a focus on our priority areas of growth.
  • Developing and managing the industry marketing budget.
  • Ensuring activity is aligned to the firm’s national and international strategy and considers service lines across audit, tax and consulting.
  • Monitoring progress against plan regularly and ensuring delivery within budget and adequate ROI.
  • Leading on and being the face of all industry driven marketing activity.
  • Conducting research to identify key industry challenges and opportunities that informs marketing activity and shapes service alignment.
  • Leading competitor research and benchmarking to assess RSM’s relative market position and differentiation within the industry.
  • Harnessing data-insight to inform content strategy, prioritise themes, and shape high-impact, issue-led content output across channels.
  • Developing issue-driven campaigns and thought leadership, working across all service lines, geographies and the integrated marketing and communications team.
  • Ensuring web, email, social, events and other content, profiles RSM well within the industry, and that profile is maintained by producing industry content on a regular basis.
  • Managing industry third party relationships, exploring new and maximising existing partnerships to position the industry appropriately as well as monitoring ROI.
  • Actively networking within the industry and building internal and external networks.
  • Being responsible for developing social media content for the industry, developing profiles of key individuals.
  • Liaising with the PR team to ensure adequate, timely and appropriate industry PR coverage.
  • Working alongside our brand, design, digital and communications teams to ensure best practice is followed when producing output, and internal processes are followed.
  • Developing and maintaining marketing materials to support business development, such as up-to-date sector information, testimonials and credentials and act as central point for collating innovative ideas and driving best practice.
