Position: Head of Marketing Operations (12 Months FTC)

About the Role..

We are looking for a Head of Marketing Operations to evolve and strengthen our marketing capability through smarter systems, stronger processes and better commercial alignment.
This is a 12 months maternity cover role.

This role is about unlocking more value from our marketing automation, improving end-to-end business processes and ensuring our technology ecosystem drives measurable commercial impact. Hub Spot and marketing automation will be a central priority, alongside process optimisation across marketing and sales workflows.

You will lead the strategic direction of Marketing Operations, ensuring our systems, data and processes are aligned, scalable and built to support growth. This includes line management of the marketing operations team as well as using influence across wider commercial stakeholders to champion improvement. This role is a member of the marketing leadership team.

What you’ll be doing ..

Our Marketing Operations function plays a key role in enabling our marketing and sales teams to work smarter, using the right technology, processes and data to drive commercial results.

Working closely with the Marketing Director and CMO, you will:

  • Lead Marketing Operations across Bauer Media Outdoor, developing the strategy, systems and processes that support our marketing and sales teams.
  • Own and optimise our marketing technology stack, including Hub Spot and tools such as Webflow, Acquia

    DAM, Showpad, Oktopost and Linked In Sales Navigator.
  • Improve marketing-to-sales processes, ensuring effective lead management, scoring and nurturing across the customer lifecycle.
  • Ensure strong integration between marketing systems and CRM, working closely with Salesforce to support sales and pipeline visibility.
  • Own marketing reporting, using tools such as Hub Spot and Google Analytics to deliver clear insights and demonstrate marketing’s impact.
  • Oversee the photography process and supporting systems, ensuring high-quality assets are captured, managed and easily accessible.
  • Lead and develop the Marketing Operations team (currently 3 people) while working closely with stakeholders across the UK and Europe.
Who are you?
  • Marketing Operations leadership: Significant experience setting the strategic direction for a Marketing Operations function, including hands‑on experience with Hub Spot
    .
  • Marketing automation expertise: Strong understanding of marketing automation and how it supports lead generation, nurturing and conversion.
  • Commercial mindset: Proven experience demonstrating how marketing activity contributes to revenue and business growth.
  • Stakeholder management: Comfortable working with a range of teams and senior stakeholders, with the credibility to influence at leadership level.
  • Influence and communication: Able to clearly communicate the value of marketing technology and drive adoption across the business.
  • Change management: Patient and resilient when driving change, with the ability to bring people on the journey and embed new ways of working.
  • Collaborative approach: Experience working cross‑functionally, ideally within international or multi‑market environments.
Highly desirable skills and experience
  • Setting core KPIs in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Budget management:
    You’ll have demonstrable experience of managing budgets.
