The Role

We are looking for a bid and marketing assistant to join our central marketing team in a role to primarily support with the writing of high-quality bid submissions and marketing communication activities during periods when it’s quiet on bids.

This role will include both written and graphics work across both bids and marketing. You will need excellent creative writing skills; an English, journalism or equivalent degree would be a distinct advantage. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to manage workload and work with stakeholders to meet strict deadlines is also essential. Ideally you will also be comfortable working with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign.

AHR’s central marketing team is based in our Manchester office and supports the practice across 12 services, 11 sectors and 9 offices, providing marketing and business development.

Your Skills and Experience
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to rework technical content for a wider audience.
  • This is a role which requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
  • Able to communicate effectively in verbal, written and design formats using appropriate media for different audiences both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in InDesign, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, wider experience of Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
  • Attention to detail is essential to ensure that any material generated is grammatically and visually correct, free of spelling errors, on brand and conveys the correct message.
  • Good team working and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation skills with ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work within brand guidelines and with pre-determined templates.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft written bid responses by turning technical knowledge and thoughts into compelling copy.
  • Complete pre-qualification questionnaires and invitation to tenders including creating organograms, CVs, presentations, capability statements and case studies.
  • Assist in keeping the bid toolkit up to date.
Additional responsibilities
  • Write and produce all elements of social media posts across our Linked In and Instagram channels, as well as post the content.
  • Create graphics and video content and support with podcasts.
  • Support with the creation of digital marketing collateral including eshots and web pages.
  • Support with AHR events, creating invitations, tracking acceptances, creating badges, photography and video to capture the event, event write ups etc.
  • Undertake research and market study of potential clients, markets and projects as required.
  • Assist with internal communications including keeping intranet pages up to date and writing news articles.
  • Work with the central marketing team to bring new ideas and proposals to the team to help keep the marketing content fresh and compelling.
  • Provide general support to the Sales Director and central marketing team on general administrative as well as business development and marketing-related activities.
