Marketing Operations Manager (12 month Fixed Term Contract – maternity cover) About the role

Moorepay is an Apax‑backed payroll and HR software business, building the demand engine to grow faster. The Marketing Operations Manager owns the systems, data and processes that turn marketing activity into qualified, sales‑ready demand. Owning the martech and AI stack, lead and campaign operations, ABX operations and lifecycle execution, the role is the operational backbone of a marketing function measured on pipeline and conversion – not volume.

You will plan and technically execute campaigns for both the demand and brand teams, own the forward plan and performance of the martech stack, keep us compliant (GDPR/PECR), manage vendors alongside procurement, set operating standards and SOPs the team runs on, and lead a team of two – a Marketing Executive and a Marketing Coordinator. You will sit on the CRM steering group and lead by example as a data steward.

This role is a hybrid role; we ask to see you twice a month in our Swinton office.

What you will own Campaign operations & execution
  • Own end‑to‑end campaign operations – the campaign calendar, planning, segmentation, targeting, QA, deployment and optimisation – for demand and brand alike.
  • Run robust QA and testing (A/B, multivariate, deliverability) so execution is consistently high quality, and work with the Marketing Analyst to turn performance into better next campaigns.
Martech & AI stack
  • Own the stack for marketing execution – Hub Spot at its core: campaigns, workflows, lead lifecycle and marketing‑side configuration, plus roadmap and vendor relationships, to the requirements the Head of Demand Generation sets – partnering with the central data function, which owns enterprise integration, platform management and data governance, so integrations and data flows stay reliable and scalable.
AI workflows
  • Design and govern AI and agent workflows across the stack – content operations, campaign build, data enrichment, reporting – to give a lean team outsized capacity, with brand‑voice and attribution governance gates.
Lead lifecycle, scoring & routing
  • Own the lead lifecycle framework: routing logic, lifecycle stages and SLAs with Business Development – every lead captured, qualified and moved to the right owner, fast.
  • Develop and maintain lead scoring, validated with the Marketing Analyst and Business Development.
Lifecycle & nurture execution
  • Run the lifecycle and nurture journeys the Head of Demand Generation sets – segmentation, scoring and multi‑touch nurture on the automation platform – across new logo and the base.
ABX operations
  • Run the operations behind the ABM programme – priority‑account data, intent signals, audience orchestration, and the workflows, routing and follow‑up that turn reach into meetings – partnering closely with Business Development.
Measurement plumbing
  • Instrument attribution and reporting with BI – the Head owns the model, you run the systems, BI reports neutrally – moving measurement from last‑touch toward multi‑touch.
Governance, compliance & vendors
  • Set the SOPs, operating rhythms and documentation standards the team runs on; keep data quality and GDPR/PECR compliance tight; lead supplier relationships with procurement to get full value from every contract.
Team
  • Lead and develop two direct reports (Marketing Executive, Marketing Coordinator) – coaching, performance and clear progression – and own work management across the team so activity lines up with our KPIs.
Skills & experience Who you are
  • A marketing operations practitioner who has run the systems behind a pipeline‑measured B2B function, end to end.
  • Deep in Hub Spot (or equivalent) – scoring, routing, workflows, integrations and reporting you built and troubleshot yourself.
  • Strong on AI capability, first and third party, and how to turn it into real team productivity.
  • A people leader who sets clear priorities, develops talent and builds a positive team culture.
  • Governance‑minded: high‑quality SOPs, clean data, GDPR/PECR fluency.
  • A solution‑oriented, continuous‑improvement thinker – calm under launch pressure, and comfortable being the person everyone depends on.
