About You

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about working with volunteers to inspire change. With experience in delivering programmes in volunteer‑led environments, you are confident working with diverse groups and committed to inclusive practices. You are a strong communicator, able to build relationships and deliver excellent customer service across varied audiences. You are organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

What will you be doing?
  • Lead the delivery of volunteer support across British Cycling’s officials, ensuring a high‑quality experience for all volunteers.
  • Lead the process of appointing commissaires to all National and International events on the British Cycling calendar for all disciplines.
  • Support the Commissaire & Referee’s commission.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to recruit, retain, and recognise volunteers, with a focus on inclusion and diversity.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development of digital tools and platforms that enhance volunteer engagement and experience.
  • Coordinate training and development opportunities to build volunteer confidence and capability.
  • Create and maintain resources and toolkits to support volunteers and programme delivery.
  • Build regional connections and support networks to strengthen local volunteer engagement.
  • Gather feedback and insight to inform planning and improve volunteer programmes.
  • Promote British Cycling’s programmes and opportunities to encourage national volunteer involvement.
  • Represent British Cycling externally, building relationships with stakeholders and partners to grow volunteer participation.
What we’re looking for
  • Strong understanding of volunteer engagement and development, with a commitment to inclusive practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service across varied audiences.
  • Skilled in project and programme coordination, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident using digital tools and platforms to support volunteer activity and communication.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in creating resources, training, and toolkits to support volunteers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Passionate about cycling and community participation, aligned with British Cycling’s values.
