Discipleship Leader, Growing Disciples
About the roleWorking alongside our wider discipleship team, you’ll lead the “Grow” element of Ivy’s discipleship pathway, helping people become healthy, wholehearted followers of Jesus.
- Develop pathways that help people build meaningful relationships and become fully connected into church life.
- Oversee and strengthen Grow Groups, Young Adults and other discipleship communities.
- Create clear pastoral and discipleship pathways for baptism, healing, restoration and spiritual growth.
- Oversee chaplaincy and pastoral support initiatives serving both the church family and wider community.
- Recruit, equip, coach and pastor volunteer leaders, creating a culture where ministry flourishes through empowered teams.
- Work collaboratively with the leaders responsible for “Know” and “Go” to ensure a joined‑up discipleship journey across the whole church.
- Has a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Will serve as part of the wider leadership team, leading with initiative and delegated authority while remaining accountable to and under the spiritual oversight of the Senior Leader and Elders.
- Is passionate about seeing people become mature disciples of Jesus.
- Has experience leading discipleship, pastoral, community or church ministries.
- Loves developing people and releasing others into ministry rather than doing everything themselves.
- Is an encouraging, relational and collaborative leader.
- Can think strategically whilst also caring deeply for individuals.
- Shares Ivy Church’s vision, values and commitment to helping people Know, Grow and Go.
- Has a heart for seeing people experience freedom, healing, belonging and spiritual transformation.
As this role involves Christian leadership, discipleship, teaching and spiritual oversight within the church, there is a genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for the postholder to be a practising Christian with a professed, demonstrated and active Christian faith.
The successful candidate will be expected to assent to Ivy Church’s Statement of Faith, embody Ivy’s DNA and values, and become (or already be) an active member of Ivy Church.
SafeguardingIvy Church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures.
Salary and FundingThis is a part‑time (0.8 FTE), three‑year fixed post attracting an annual salary of £25,088 plus employer pension contributions at 9 % of gross salary.
