Sister​/Charge Nurse - Frailty Unit

Role Overview

As a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse on the OAK unit, you will work alongside staff as a role model and mentor, developing clinical competencies in frailty and leadership skills within the team. You will supervise the ward and staff in the absence of the Ward Manager and work with the Ward Manager to implement quality processes towards yearly accreditation, benefiting patient care.

• Ensure safe and effective practice.
• Enhance the patient/client experience.
• Provide effective leadership and management.
• Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
• Supervise the ward and staff when the Ward Manager is absent.
• Implement quality processes and support annual accreditation.
• Monitor performance and ensure training needs are met.
• Conduct robust annual appraisals.

Full NMC registration and excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital. Candidates should be a senior nurse with a passion for frailty and the frail patient, showing compassion and kindness to patients, relatives and staff. A strong leadership background, commitment, enthusiasm, and the ability to promote trust values are expected.
