Perioperative Practitioner - Anaesthetics and Recovery

Overview

Spire Manchester is looking to recruit an ODP/Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner. Applications are welcome from newly qualified and experienced professionals, including ODPs and Registered Nurses who hold a recognised Anaesthetics qualification. The role is based at a modern, well‑equipped private hospital, offering an attractive elective caseload and strong development pathways.

• Provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
• Prepare the anaesthetic room for surgery, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready for each procedure.
• Ensure the Patient Record is completed in a timely and accurate way.
• Perform anaesthetic duties across a range of specialties.
• Assess patients’ health and well‑being across a complex and changing caseload.
• Assist in the delivery of care to meet the patients’ needs in an extremely busy department.
• Prep the recovery bays and look after patients following surgery.
• Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.

• Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner.
• HCPC registered ODP or NMC (including the Anaesthetic module) registered Nurse.
• Ability to work in teams with minimum supervision.
• Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge obtained through state registration, practitioner qualification and additional training.
