Job Summary:
Registered Nurses provide high-quality, patient‑centred care within healthcare settings such as hospitals, care homes, clinics, and community environments.
They are responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and delivering care, administering treatments, and ensuring patient safety and wellbeing.
As regulated professionals, Registered Nurses must hold a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN and adhere to professional standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans; deliver safe and effective nursing care in line with best practice; monitor patients’ conditions; respond promptly to changes; provide emotional support and promote patient dignity and independence.
- Clinical Duties: administer medications safely; perform clinical procedures such as wound care, injections, catheterisation; maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records; ensure compliance with clinical governance and care standards.
- Care Coordination: work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams; participate in handovers; support discharge planning and patient transitions.
- Health & Safety: adhere to infection prevention and control policies; maintain a safe environment; safeguard vulnerable patients; report concerns appropriately.
- Communication & Support: communicate with patients, families, and colleagues; provide health education and promote wellbeing; maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR.
- Leadership & Supervision: supervise healthcare assistants and junior staff; act as a role model and uphold professional conduct; participate in training and mentoring.
- Training & Development: maintain a valid NMC PIN; comply with revalidation; engage in CPD; stay updated with current nursing practices and policies.
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN (UK)
- Degree or diploma in Nursing
- Relevant clinical experience (preferred depending on setting)
- Strong clinical and decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Compassionate, patient‑focused approach
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Physical requirements:
ability to stand, walk, respond quickly; assist patients with mobility; work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Registered Nurses may work in hospitals, care homes, clinics, or community settings. The role typically involves shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on service needs.
