Overview

This post presents an excellent opportunity to join the establishing and expanding HPB/NET (Hepatobiliary/Neuroendocrine Carcinoma) team with a varied portfolio of early and late clinical trials as a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN).

Research nursing is an exciting and developing role, supported through the R&I division with a good education and development package in place to ensure that staff reach their potential.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the complex needs of patients participating in clinical trials, including the delivery of all specified treatments within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate trial protocols and collaborate with clinical trial coordinators.
  • Participate in feasibility reviews of new clinical trial opportunities.
  • Set‑up and activate new trials.
  • Recruit and manage patients for trials.
  • Support the team with data query resolution and reviewing protocol amendments.
  • Provide patient‑centred insights to the research delivery team, supporting both patients and the team through all aspects of clinical research of the HPB/NET portfolio.
  • Ensure patient safety and wellbeing in compliance with ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs, and within multi‑regulatory frameworks for clinical research.
  • Utilise national frameworks for auditing patient experience to ensure the best possible experience for trial participants.
  • Raise the profile of the clinical research nurse and clinical trials within the trust by engaging in promotional events and participating in local, national and international meetings.
  • Demonstrate awareness and contribute to divisional, Trust and national objectives and strategies.
Qualifications
  • Background in oncology.
  • Flexibility in working schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in clinical research and/or HPB/NET malignancies (desirable).
