Location:

Manchester Foundation Trust, Town Manchester (Wythenshawe Hospital & North Manchester General Hospital)

Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 per annum (pro rata) for part‑time 24 hours per week (Monday‑Friday)

Job Overview

The Band 6 specialist nurse post is part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease team, delivering seamless IBD care within the Trust and community.

  • Work closely with members of the gastroenterology team across MFT
  • Provide specialist advice to support assessment, planning, and implementation of IBD care for patients
  • Deliver programmes of care and carry out specialist nursing procedures
  • Contribute to specialist education and training programmes for staff and learners
  • Assist in the development of IBD services and manage patients with complex disease within the wider IBD MDT service
Qualifications
  • Degree level education
  • Hold Salford IBD unit or equivalent
  • Non‑medical prescriber
Knowledge
  • Competent use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Good knowledge of clinical information systems, e.g., electronic patient record
  • Competent in databases and spreadsheets
Experience
  • Demonstrated specialist expertise underpinned by CPD
  • Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience within gastroenterology / endoscopy
  • Evidence of involvement in protocol development and clinical audit
  • Experience with in inflammatory bowel disease nursing
Skills
  • Excellent clinical record keeping
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding environment
  • Imaginative and effective use of resources
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Employment Conditions

Part‑time: 24 hours per week (Monday‑Friday)

Permanent contract, NHS AfC Band 6

Salary range: £39,959 - £48,117 per annum (pro rata)
