The Band 6 specialist nurse post is part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease team, delivering seamless IBD care within the Trust and community.
- Work closely with members of the gastroenterology team across MFT
- Provide specialist advice to support assessment, planning, and implementation of IBD care for patients
- Deliver programmes of care and carry out specialist nursing procedures
- Contribute to specialist education and training programmes for staff and learners
- Assist in the development of IBD services and manage patients with complex disease within the wider IBD MDT service
- Degree level education
- Hold Salford IBD unit or equivalent
- Non‑medical prescriber
- Competent use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and Power Point
- Good knowledge of clinical information systems, e.g., electronic patient record
- Competent in databases and spreadsheets
- Demonstrated specialist expertise underpinned by CPD
- Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience within gastroenterology / endoscopy
- Evidence of involvement in protocol development and clinical audit
- Experience with in inflammatory bowel disease nursing
- Excellent clinical record keeping
- Ability to work in a highly demanding environment
- Imaginative and effective use of resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Part‑time: 24 hours per week (Monday‑Friday)
