Senior Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse

Position Overview

2 permanent band 7 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse positions available at the Children's Diabetes Team, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH). 1.6 WTE hours per position.

• Provide comprehensive paediatric diabetes care to children, young people and families across tertiary, secondary and community settings.
• Deliver routine clinic care Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00 and out‑of‑hours support for newly diagnosed patients and those initiating hybrid closed loop (HCL) pump therapy.
• Maintain effective communication with families, multidisciplinary teams and the National Children and Young People Diabetes Network.
• Contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives.
• Support education and self‑management for patients and carers.

• Registered nurse with paediatric diabetes experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with others.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for out‑of‑hours duties.

• Working hours Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00, with out‑of‑hours service available.
