Main area Paediatrics. SACT trained. Grade Band 6.

Contract:

Secondment 8 months.

Hours: Full time, Part time, Job share. 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri).

Location: Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Town Manchester.

Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro rata). Salary period:
Yearly. Closing: 23/07/2026 23:59.

You will be part of the team delivering SACT on a mobile cancer care unit, providing care to paediatric oncology patients closer to home.

As a Band 6 nurse you will assess, develop, implement and evaluate family‑centred care, contribute to the care‑closer‑to‑home project and ensure high‑standard care.

• Manage a caseload and assess, plan and evaluate patient care needs.
• Provide direct patient care with detailed clinical knowledge of the speciality.
• Ensure high standards of quality care are delivered and maintained.
• Act as a positive role model within the department and the community for staff, patients and carers.
• Contribute to the care‑closer‑to‑home project, meeting patient and family needs.
• Facilitate high‑quality education and staff development opportunities.

• Post‑basic evidence of study.
• Post‑registration experience in Haematology/Oncology.
• Evidence of Level 6 studies.
• Qualified to mentor pre‑registration students.
• 12 months SACT administration and IV competent.
• Full driver’s licence and access to a car with business insurance.
• Further study in relevant specialty.
• Appropriate management or leadership courses.

• Substantial relevant port registration experience within relevant clinical setting.
• Evidence of professional leadership and innovation in practice.
• Evidence of multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency working.
• Experience of clinical audit.
• Experience of research activities.
