Role Overview
The Healthy Weight Team operates citywide across Manchester, working in partnership with schools to improve the health outcomes of children, young people and their families. The team supports the School Health Service to address childhood obesity, providing support and advice as part of the City’s public health priorities.
The Healthy Weight Nurse will deliver an effective and comprehensive weight‑management intervention to children and parents/families in a Manchester school nursery or reception setting. The role encompasses children identified through the National Child Measurement Programme or by GP, school or Health Visitor referrals, ensuring that care is evidence‑based and safe.
Additional duties include working collaboratively with the wider school health team and partner agencies to support healthy weight in children and young people, and meeting statutory safeguarding obligations.
