This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join an immunisation project supporting the delivery of adult vaccination programmes across primary care.
The Shingles Vaccination Nurse will be responsible for the safe, effective and professional delivery of shingles vaccination clinics within GP practices and Primary Care Network hubs.
The role will contribute to improved patient access, increased vaccination uptake and the reduction of vaccine-preventable diseases.
The post holder will work closely with the project delivery team, GP Practice teams and wider project stakeholders to deliver high quality clinical care, support efficient clinic flow and contribute to sustainable improvements in National Immunisation Programme delivery.
Key Accountabilities Include:- Deliver vaccination clinics across multiple GP practices and Primary Care Network Hubs
- Support practices with clinic setup, workflow, and patient throughput
- Ensure a patient-centred approach to care at all times
- Leave a legacy of effective National Immunisation Programme delivery through upskilling and training existing practice staff
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team, including CHASE administrators and NHS staff
- Adhere to CHASE policies including GDPR, safeguarding, information governance, and infection control
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and post-registration clinical experience
- Demonstratable experience of delivering vaccinations or injectable treatments in a primary care, community, occupational health or comparable clinical setting
- Sound understanding of adult immunisation programmes, national eligibility criteria, consent, contraindications, cold chain principles and safe vaccine administration in line with current Green Book guidance
- Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
- Competent in clinical record keeping, information governance, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and incident or adverse event reporting
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in adult National Immunisation Programme delivery
- Working knowledge of GP clinical systems, including EMIS Web and/or Systm One
- Experience using GP clinical systems
