Specialist Podiatrist

Are you a passionate and motivated podiatrist looking for a rewarding career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for two permanent Band 6 Podiatrists to join the Manchester Local Care Organisation's Community Podiatry team in Central Manchester.

• Holistic Patient Care:
  Manage complex patients with foot ulcers through comprehensive musculoskeletal and vascular assessments.
• Diverse Clinical
  
  Experience:
  
  Engage in nail surgery, core podiatry, and musculoskeletal clinics.
• Integrated Services:
  Collaborate with the hospital diabetes team, supporting outpatient clinics and ward rounds weekly.

• Varied Work Settings:
  Deliver care in community clinics, outpatient clinics, wards, and patients' homes. A car owner/driver is essential.
• Professional Development:
  Contribute to audits, service improvement, and research projects. Mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Supported CPD:
  Engage in continuous professional development with access to training and educational opportunities.

• Versatile Work Settings:
  Provide care across acute settings, community clinics, residential and nursing homes, day centres, and patients' homes.
• Patient Treatment Management:
  Actively manage treatment programmes in line with care planning and discharge guidelines.
• Collaborative Decision-Making:
  Use the decision-making processes to identify when patients need referrals to other professionals or specialist areas, following agreed pathways.
• Nail Surgery:
  Perform nail surgery (undertaking procedures under supervision if not already proficient).
• Specialist Rotations:
  Participate in rotations in areas such as nail surgery, diabetes, patho-mechanics, and vascular care.
• Orthoses Provision:
  Arrange for orthoses, pressure-relieving insoles, and shoe inserts as needed.
• Workload Planning:
  Plan and manage your daily workload for wards, clinics, home visits, and visits to residential and nursing homes.
• Flexibility:
  Provide cover for other podiatrists at short notice or during absences, covering sites across North Manchester.
• Administrative Duties:
  Complete all necessary administrative tasks associated with the role.
• Additional Duties:
  Perform any other duties as required by the department.
• Compliance:
  Adhere to all Trust policies, guidelines, and procedures.
