An Exciting Opportunity to Join Our Friendly Rural Practice

Lochgilphead Medical Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.

We are a busy, forward-thinking GP practice providing care to approximately 6,300 patients across Mid Argyll. Located within the Mid Argyll Community Hospital and Integrated Care Centre, we work closely with community and secondary care colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred healthcare.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse or a Registered Nurse interested in developing a career within Primary Care. Full support and training will be provided for the right candidate. The practice has previously supported nurses undertaking Practice Nurse training and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of clinical activities including:

  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Long-Term Condition Reviews
  • Cervical Screening
  • Wound Care and Dressings
  • Health Promotion and Preventative Care
  • Lifestyle Advice and Screening Programmes
  • Supporting Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in General Practice or Primary Care
  • Chronic Disease Management qualifications or experience
  • Cervical Cytology training
  • Mentorship or teaching experience
