Join to apply for the Farm Veterinary Surgeon role at Vet Record Careers

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, dedicated, well established RCVS accredited practice in Gloucestershire with an enviable reputation. We can offer a good balance of rural living with great network links from the M5/M4. Regency Cheltenham, the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean are all a short commute.

While being a dedicated farm-only team, we operate from our hospital, which also houses our small animal team thereby providing for a bigger network and a stronger community feel.

The ideal candidate will enjoy routine dairy work, with a varied amount of beef, sheep, gamebird, small holder, and export work. The practice radius is fairly tight allowing for more time on farm and less time on the road. As an experienced vet, you will support and mentor more junior colleagues which may include a part in the VetGDP of our New Graduate.

We are privileged to have a progressive client base; always keen for training and health planning. We have an in-house Laboratory with dedicated technicians, providing advanced diagnostics, such as Johne’s and Neospora testing, alongside bulk tank and mastitis culture and sensitivity.

Alongside our clinical team we have a Vet Tech, NACFT Foot Trimmer and 4 dedicated TB Testers, allowing us to provide a high standard of veterinary services to our clients, all supported by excellent administration personnel looking after the team on the road. We have regular clinical and whole farm team meetings to collaborate ideas and to encourage and develop the team.

Our team proudly describes us as being like a family; knowing you can fall back on everyone and have their full support!

We are open to both full and part time applicants, but as we already have a New Graduate within the team, we wouldn't be able to support a further New Graduate. Flexible working opportunities considered for the right candidate.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be RCVS registered to apply.
