A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join an experienced Hospital and Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) day team! This role is based within a dynamic multi-disciplinary referral centre offering state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive, progressive clinical environment.

Located in Greater Manchester, this prominent 24‑hour hospital and referral facility features exceptional modern technology, including an on‑site CT scanner, four operating theatres, six consulting rooms, a dedicated ICU, digital X‑ray, advanced ultrasound suites, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and a comprehensive in‑house laboratory. The practice holds Gold Cat‑Friendly status alongside Silver awards for dog and rabbit care, delivering top‑tier veterinary care with round‑the‑clock nursing and veterinary coverage.

About

the Role & Team:

This position is tailored for a clinician looking to focus on both inpatient hospital work and emergency cases. Your duties will be split between managing hospitalized patients (workups, surgeries, and treatments) and handling incoming ECC consultations and emergencies.

  • Rota: 31–40 hours per week across 4 days, with a 1 in 4 weekend rotation. Flexible rota options are open for discussion.

  • Team: You will collaborate with a diverse team of 37 veterinary surgeons, many of whom hold or are pursuing certificates across multiple disciplines (ECC, Surgery, Imaging, Medicine, Cardiology, and more), backed by an exceptional group of Certificate‑holding RVNs and support staff.
