Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking to recruit a Diplomate or residency-trained Surgeon to support and help drive our growing referral caseload across soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. Whilst experience across multiple disciplines would be welcomed, we would also be happy to consider candidates with a preference or advanced expertise in one of these areas.

This role would work alongside our multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with our existing referral surgeons to deliver outstanding patient care. Our varied referral and emergency caseload provides exposure to a wide range of complex surgical procedures across multiple disciplines in a supportive, specialist-led environment.

Vets Now Manchester is a multidisciplinary small animal referral hospital offering specialist-led services in ECC, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and orthopaedic surgery, as well as cardiology and imaging supported by advanced practitioners. The hospital is a 24/7 centre providing an out-of-hours service for neighbouring practices.

We have a large and highly skilled team of veterinary professionals, including Diplomates and Certificate holders across surgery, ECC, internal medicine, cardiology and imaging. We are also proud to train surgery residents, ECC-specific interns and rotating interns.

The Hospital Is Fully Equipped With Advanced Facilities Including
  • 16-slice CT
  • Dedicated soft tissue and orthopaedic theatres
  • Full endoscopy suite
  • Digital radiography and ultrasonography
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Fully stocked in-house laboratory
  • Intensive care facility with 24/7 veterinary and nursing supervision

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional clinical standards and customer service, while fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment with a strong team ethos.

Vets Now is part of Inspiring Vet Care. At Inspiring Vet Care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

How You’ll Make a Difference

The working week consists of 10-hour shifts, 8am–6pm. Ideally, this is a 40-hour-per-week role, although 30 hours per week will also be considered, offering a strong work-life balance.

There is currently no weekend or evening on-call rota, as our experienced ECC and OOH team manage this caseload during evenings and weekends. Flexible working requests will also be considered where possible.
