Quality Inspector
Location:
Fareham, Hampshire Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours:
37.5 weekly with early finish on Fridays!
Job Description As a Quality Inspector you will ensure that products meet specified quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves inspecting materials, components, and finished goods to identify defects or deviations from quality requirements. You will work closely with production teams to maintain consistent quality and support continuous improvement. This position requires attention to detail, methodical inspection techniques, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. Document inspection results accurately, maintaining comprehensive records and reports for traceability purposes. Identify, report, and communicate any non-conformities or deviations to the relevant teams promptly. Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve quality issues. Ensure all inspection activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to provide quality feedback and promote best practises. Experience Previous experience in a quality inspection or quality control role within an engineering or manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiarity with inspection procedures and quality management systems is advantageous. Knowledge and Skills Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects or inconsistencies accurately. Competence in using measuring devices such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
Good written and verbal communication skills to produce clear inspection reports and liaise with team members. Basic understanding of quality standards and manufacturing processes. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to safety and quality procedures. Organisational skills to manage inspection schedules and maintain thorough documentation.
