SHEQ Advisor

I am currently supporting a client of mine based in the Burnley area with their recruitment of a proactive and motivated SHEQ Advisor. In this role you will support the ongoing development of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within SHEQ and gain broader experience across health & safety, environmental management, quality and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Operations team you'll help ensure the people, processes and working environment remain safe, compliant and continually improving. You'll be a visible presence across the business, providing practical advice, supporting audits and inspections, investigating incidents and helping colleagues understand and apply SHEQ requirements in their day-to-day roles. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ policies, procedures and processes Carrying out workplace inspections and supporting risk assessments, identifying hazards and recommending practical improvements Supporting the management of contractor and supplier SHEQ requirements Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on safe working practices and SHEQ procedures Supporting the delivery of SHEQ training and awareness activities Assisting with investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, helping identify root causes and corrective actions Supporting the ongoing management of the company's integrated management systems, including various ISO accreditations Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring actions are followed through to completion Maintaining accurate SHEQ records, documentation and compliance information Collecting and analysing SHEQ data and helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement Supporting environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives Assisting with customer, retailer and certification audits and responding to technical or compliance enquiries where required Working collaboratively with Production, Procurement, Sales and other teams to promote a positive SHEQ culture Supporting the SHEQ Manager with continuous improvement projects and other SHEQ initiatives The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has exposure working in a SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Compliance role, someone who is practical, curious and proactive.
