Homie is a fast-growing student housing company building a UK-wide portfolio of shared homes for second- and third-year students. Our mission is to build student homes that look amazing, stand up to heavy use, and offer a rental experience that is better than the market norm.
Launched in 2024 and already scaling quickly, Homie operates across Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Durham, Liverpool and Bristol, with a new Manchester-area office opening later this year. As we grow, we are building an in-house operations team to deliver a best-in- class service to our residents and drive the business forward.
The RoleThe Assistant Property Manager supports the day-to-day resident service offering across the Manchester and Liverpool portfolio. The role contributes to delivering a consistently safe, compliant, and high-quality living experience for tenants by supporting property operations, access management, and tenant engagement.
You will work with the Regional Property Manager and wider operations team to deliver a best-in-class service to our residents. This role involves ad‑hoc time at our homes across the region with regular travel required.
What You’ll Do Property Operations & Tenant Experience- Support day‑to‑day lettings, property management, and customer service activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations across Manchester and Liverpool.
- Act as a first point of contact for tenant‑reported issues, responding promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of tenant satisfaction.
- Handle tenant issues and complaints effectively, escalating where appropriate.
- Provide administration support to the wider Homie operation when required.
- Support the RPM in maintaining property standards and readiness from an operational perspective.
- Assist with access arrangements for compliance inspections, safety checks.
- Performing basic non‑statutory property checks.
- Organising remedial works arising from Fire Risk Assessments and HMO inspections.
- Support the onboarding of newly acquired properties, ensuring alignment with internal standards, operational processes, and compliance requirements.
- Carry out detailed property inventories at the start and end of tenancies, accurately recording property condition to help prevent disputes and support deposit management.
- Conduct tenant check‑ins, welcoming new tenants to the property and to Homie.
- Conduct regular inspections of Homie properties.
- Monitor rental arrears and resolve issues directly where possible, escalating concerns as required.
- Manage property viewings and coordinate student ambassador schedules to ensure efficient access for prospective tenants.
- Support letting and marketing activity across the region. Attend student events and fairs acting as a brand ambassador for Homie.
- Manage access arrangements across the portfolio, including key boxes and key distribution, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring property security.
- Monitor the Fixflo system for reactive maintenance issues, arranging works with local contractors and keeping tenants informed throughout the process.
- Liaise with contractors as directed, ensuring works are completed to required standards and timescales.
- Support the RPM in the creation and implementation of new processes, contributing to operational efficiencies.
- Oversee meter readings and utility coordination to ensure accurate records and billing.
- Property Management Experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with tenants, contractors, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proactive approach with good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider operations team.
- User‑level proficiency in MS Office and online property management systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Manchester and Liverpool properties.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with HMOs or student housing.

Package- Salary: £27,000 to £32,000 depending on experience.
- North West based with regular travel around Manchester and Liverpool and occasional travel across our UK wide portfolio - use of shared company vehicle.
- Based in our Manchester office opening later this year.
