Research Associate in -Temperature Ceramic Coatings

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Associate in High‑Temperature Ceramic Coatings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an EPSRC‑funded project on advanced high‑temperature ceramic coatings, within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

• Conduct research in line with project milestones and objectives.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Collaborate effectively with industrial and academic partners.

• A PhD (or near completion) in Materials Science or a closely related field.
• A strong background in processing, testing, characterisation, and/or modelling of ceramic coatings or high‑temperature materials.
• In‑depth knowledge of coatings and ceramics for high‑temperature applications.
• Research knowledge, and preferably hands‑on experience of cryogenic measurements of transport or optical properties of atomically thin 2D crystals within the last 6 years.

• Experience with thermal or environmental barrier coatings.
• Practical knowledge in ceramic powder and coating processing techniques.
• Hands‑on expertise in advanced characterisation techniques.
