The North West Regional Research Delivery Network (NW RRDN) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Senior Clinical Research Practitioner. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of health and care settings throughout the North West and provides a leadership role supporting the capability and capacity of research delivery across the region.
As part of the Agile Research Delivery Team, you will play a key role in delivering NIHR Portfolio research studies across multiple specialties and organisations, supporting participant recruitment, study delivery, and the safe conduct of research while ensuring the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Job responsibilities- Lead the delivery of high‑quality research across a variety of health and care settings in the North West.
- Coordinate and deliver NIHR Portfolio research studies, ensuring they are conducted safely, ethically and in line with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements.
- Support recruitment and follow‑up of research participants, undertake research procedures within scope of practice and maintain accurate study documentation.
- Provide day‑to‑day support and guidance to colleagues, building strong partnerships with clinical and research teams.
- Contribute to service improvement and the development of innovative approaches to research delivery.
- Travel across the North West region to support research delivery where needed.
- Degree level in science, health‑related discipline, or equivalent experience in research trials.
- Registered with the AHCS (or completing appropriate registration).
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Completion or undertaking of a course in management/leadership.
- Leadership and management experience in a health care setting.
- Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research and UK Clinical Trials Regulations.
- Knowledge of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle, and experience of setting up and delivering clinical research studies.
- Experience caring for patients/participants enrolled in research studies.
- Experience with data interpretation, verification and reporting to local and national centres.
- Good IT skills, particularly with web applications, MS Office or Google Workspace.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and motivate yourself and others.
- Ability to plan and coordinate multidisciplinary activities associated with the management of research studies, including work allocation, deployment and supervision of staff.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative working relationships with the public, research participants, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of personal accountability.
- Ability to travel for work and a current driving licence.
- Confident and experienced leader and manager in health care.
- Team player with an adaptable/flexible approach to work.
- Integrity and strong organisational detail orientation.
- Ability to work calmly, effectively and independently under pressure.
- A desire to maintain competence through continuous learning.

Salary£39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata.
