About the role:

We are currently looking for a Senior Scientific officer within the Chromatin Regulation group at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute. The aim of this post is to combine hands on research with leadership roles, taking ownership of lab management, supporting the training and experiments of team members, and driving independent research projects.

About you:

You should have a BSc (or equivalent) in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related subject, backed by extensive hands-on laboratory experience. You have a proven track record managing scientific research projects independently, with strong organisational and communication skills. You should have a strong background in the field of oncology, cellular biology, structural biology, and/or molecular biology. Key technical expertise will include the generation of genetically modified cells and in vivo models, alongside proficiency in both light and electron microscopy.

Knowledge in chromatin and cancer biology are highly desirable.
