The Hepworth Lab at the University of Manchester is looking for a research technician with a strong desire to develop working knowledge and skills in immunology and excellent organizational skills for an initial period of 2 years, with a funding available for extension. The start date for the position is flexible, but ideally from September 2026.
The role may be suited for either a candidate looking to get research experience prior to undertaking a PhD or other role, or for an existing technician. The successful candidate will be trained in new techniques used within the group and the position has scope to develop independent lines of research to build skills while performing core duties.
The technician will provide technical assistance to ongoing research projects in the lab, studying mechanism of mucosal immunity utilizing in vivo transgenic models.

Experience with techniques in the fields of immunology and molecular biology, and basic understanding the immunological concepts underlying the project are desired. Organizational and time-management skills are also essential, as the technician will be responsible for supporting the lab team across a range of activities.
