Retail Assistant - Part Time, Early Starts

Hours: 12 hours across 3 days per week.

Pay: £10.95 - £12.81 per hour (varies with age).

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Longsight, Greater Manchester. This is a permanent part–time position with a minimum of 12 hours worked over 3 days each week, including weekends. The role requires availability for early–morning shifts, which may not be suitable for those unable to work these times.

The position is identified as PTRA. Rota is planned three weeks in advance.

Ages 16–20: £10.95 per hour.

Ages 21+: £12.81 per hour.

• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer help packing and leave a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
• Handle stock carefully while working deliveries, placing products into freezers and onto shelves promptly.
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

• A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
• A passion for busy environments, enjoying multitasking between deliveries, till work, shop floor assistance and cleaning/stock rotation.
• Reliability – important as a small team member; colleagues and customers depend on you to deliver best effort on each shift.
• A bit of flexibility in shifts; may need to cover for teammates on holidays. Rota is planned 3 weeks in advance and other commitments are considered.

Those who stay may progress to Shop and Area Manager positions from within. Many management and central services roles at Farmfoods began in the shops.
