We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established fashion apparel business for a Production Co-ordinator to join their growing womenswear team.
Our client is a long-standing, distributor of fashion apparel, supplying leading high street retailers and global e-commerce brands.
Based in Manchester you would be supporting the day-to-day running of the department. Previous knitwear experience is desirable but not essential, as full product training will be provided.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting the management of the critical path from purchase order through to shipment
- Liaising daily with Far East suppliers to monitor production and delivery schedules
- Raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate system information
- Chasing production samples, lab dips and approvals to ensure deadlines are met
- Monitoring delivery dates and flagging potential delays to the Senior Merchandiser
- Approving packing lists, checking barcodes and assisting with shipping approvals
- Managing incoming samples, ensuring they are labelled, tracked and distributed efficiently
- Assisting with sales analysis, repeat buys and markdown recommendations
- Preparing samples for customer meetings and photoshoots, and maintaining showroom samples and product trackers
- Working closely with Buying, Design and QC teams to ensure smooth progress through the supply chain
Person Specification:
- Ideally previous experience in a production merchandising assistant role within fashion
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams
- Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in fashion
- Good Excel and computer skills
- Able to prioritise workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, proactive and keen to develop a career in merchandising
