We are seeking a dynamic and organised Merchandiser to join our team. The successful candidate will support the team by analysing sales performance, managing stock availability, coordinating forecasts, and acting as a key customer-facing contact to ensure sales plans are converted into actualised, profitable sales. The role bridges Sales, Finance, Buying, Product Development, and Logistics to ensure accurate reporting, optimal stock levels, and timely order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse weekly sales performance and produce accurate internal and external sales reports.
- Maintain and update weekly sales figures, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Support the production of everyday and seasonal internal reports.
- Create and maintain Weekly Trading Documents for key customers.
- Prepare customer-specific trading documents for major accounts (e.g. grocery and retail customers).
- Participate in weekly customer calls to discuss sales performance, stock levels, and reorder opportunities.
- Proactively suggest reorders based on sales trends, stock cover, and lead times.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers on stock availability and sales updates.
- Ensure stock is arriving in line with key delivery dates, working closely with Product Development, Logistics, and Buying teams.
- Manage stock levels to balance availability with minimising excess inventory.
- Understand and monitor lead times across multiple factory bases.
- Calculate and recommend reorder quantities based on sales, commitments, and lead times.
- Ensure all committed stock is taken by the end of the season or agreed commitment period.
- Lead or contribute to weekly internal stock meetings to review requirements, risks, and issues by customer.
- Work closely with Sales and Finance to translate sales forecasts into actualised sales.
- Update sales forecasts on a weekly basis to reflect real-time performance and customer demand.
- Highlight risks and opportunities against forecast and stock positions.
- Manage New Line Forms, ensuring all product, pricing, and customer information is accurate and complete.
- Maintain and update customer portals, including product setup and stock details across multiple retailer platforms.
- Ensure all orders are invoiced correctly and on time.
- Support the management of debit notes in line with existing processes, escalating issues where required.
- Investigate discrepancies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously look for improvements in reporting, forecasting, and stock management processes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Experience producing sales, stock, or commercial reports
- Understanding of stock management, lead times, and forecasting
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with customers and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with retail or grocery customers
- Familiarity with customer portals and retailer systems
- Experience in sales operations, supply chain, or commercial planning roles
